Celebrate with us at the Denver Art Museum
Please join members of the Board of Trustees, President Adam Weinberg, and Denver-area members of our Denison family for an entertaining and informative celebration of our college’s recent successes and ambitious plans for a bright future. Because of your loyal support, we are able to unlock our students’ potential.
The festivities take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at the Denver Art Museum. The event consists of two parts — a program about a recent seminar taught by two veteran Denison professors, followed by a reception featuring remarks by President Weinberg and brief video presentations — so feel free to attend either or both as your schedule permits.
The evening includes:
5 – 6 p.m. – Divided Cities: A Denison Seminar
Professors Cathy Dollard ’88 and Dave Bussan ’81 will discuss their team-taught Denison Seminar titled “Divided Cities.” By taking a comparative historical approach, the seminar looked at the divided cities of Berlin, Belfast, and Nicosia as focal points of political, cultural, and geographic rupture. Involving travel for on-site learning in Berlin and Belfast, this fascinating course unlocked students’ potential by providing the opportunity to learn first-hand about the implications and consequences of governmental and cultural urban division.
6 – 8 p.m. – Cocktail Reception
Mix and mingle with fellow Denisonians. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. A program at 6:45 p.m. will include remarks by President Weinberg, as well as some short videos.
This event is being offered free of charge to all Denison alumni, families, and friends.
Recommended attire for the evening is business or business casual.
