For Denison University Alumni and Friends of the College
Ask anyone for career advice, and it’s all but guaranteed they’ll mention the value of networking. Often, this suggestion is met with an eye roll—no one likes the term “networking.” Beyond that, how do you even do it well?
Let’s focus on relationship building instead. After all, Denison is all about relationships. How can you build meaningful connections and relationships with people who can impact your career now or down the road? How do you identify these individuals? How do you find the key decision-maker for a job and move your resume to the top of the pile? How do you find a sponsor who will point to you for opportunities in your company or in your community? How do you not just talk about the weather? And how do you do all of this on the virtual platforms instead of face to face?
Join alumnae Erin Roberts ’02 and Rae Ellen Douglas ’96 as they lead a virtual discussion titled “The Art of Networking.” Afterward, continue to foster your own connections with your fellow Denisonians in a series of breakout sessions, guided by alumni and Knowlton Center staff.
