Join us at the theatre in Seattle!

You are invited to join fellow area Denisonians for a performance of the pre-Broadway run of “Marie, Dancing Still.” Denison alumna Sharon Carr ’73, who is the producer of the show, shares that pre-Broadway runs are part of the developmental process for most Broadway musicals. It’s very rare that a musical would go from “page to the Broadway stage” without making a stop at a “willing and able” regional house along the way. So join us for an exciting night at the theatre and get an early peek of this future hit musical!

In “Marie, Dancing Still,” Broadway visionaries meet ballet royalty. Five-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman (“The Producers,” “Contact”), Tony Award-winning authors Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (“Ragtime,” “Once On This Island”), and acclaimed New York City Ballet principal dancer Tiler Peck invite you backstage into 19th-century Paris, where glittering opulence hobnobbed with underworld dangers.

In this era of groundbreaking artistry, a girl named Marie (Peck) dreams of being the next star of the ballet. Despite the odds of her hardscrabble life, she scrimps, saves and steals in pursuit of her ambitions. But when fate leads her to the studio of Impressionist Edgar Degas, she unknowingly steps into immortality — becoming the inspiration for his most famous sculpture ever: Little Dancer.

Also starring Tony Award nominee Terrence Mann (“Pippin”), Louise Pitre (“Mamma Mia!”) and Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba (“Contact”), “Marie, Dancing Still” is a gorgeous new musical poised to conquer the stage — and your heart.

View a brief but enlightening video about the production featuring the musical’s creators and actors at playbill.com.

As an added attraction, a special artist talk-back for Denison attendees, hosted by producer Sharon Carr ’73 immediately following the performance, will feature remarks and personal reflections from stars of the musical’s creative team.

It’ll be loads of fun, and we hope to see you there!
