Jan Berlin is a distinguished physician and noted surgeon in his field of ophthalmology. He is currently head of the ophthalmic plastic and orbital surgery section of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

At the same time, Jan has developed a career as a noted performer in opera, oratorio, and recital. A tenor, he has performed regularly with the Cleveland Opera Theatre and the Cleveland Opera. Operatic roles include Alfredo in La Traviata, Ernesto in Don Pasquale, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Tamino in The Magic Flute, Rodolfo in La Boheme, and Camille de Rossilon in The Merry Widow. He has been a soloist in a number of performances on campus.

He has served Denison as a career advisor and is currently president of the Case Western Reserve Medical Alumni Association.
