Mr. James A. Nicholson is an industrial executive who has added much to the nation’s productivity in building materials and has exerted unflagging effort for the advancement of responsible business practice and on the fighting fronts of the educational crisis of this country.

A lawyer who founded Nicholson Concrete Company in the midst of the depression and who is developing its subsidiaries, Toledo Plaster and Supply Company and Penn Sand Company, Mr. Nicholson has been known for many years as a giant in the industry. Author of the definitive text in the ready-mix concrete field, he has also held executive positions in local, state, and national business associations and in civic and fraternal organizations. His multifarious activities have included legislative and financial campaigns for the improvement of public schools, Catholic secondary schools, and higher education at his two alma maters.
