Margaret Rhodehamel Volpitto has combined those qualities of spirit, enthusiasm, and grace in her devotion in support of Denison, especially within her leadership at Alumni Council, club, class and sorority levels and in her productive assistance in the fundraising programs of the University.

The 56th president of Denison’s Society of the Alumni and only woman to head the Society in its 123-year history, she has also served as president of the Cleveland Women’s Club and as an elected and ex officio member of the Alumni Council. A leader and worker in all of Denison’s fund programs, she served as Cleveland’s general organization co-chairman in the Ford Foundation Challenge, Clevealdn’s co-chairman of the Greater Denison Program, a team captain in Cleveland’s Denison Development Program, and a worker and fellow in the Denison Annual Support Programs. She is currently a member of the Alumni Council’s Long Range Planning Committee. In addition to her alumni club and Council work, she has also served as president of the class of 1929 since 1965, past president and holder of other offices of the Cleveland alumnae chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, and as trustee of Beta Tau chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta.
