Dick’s life is an exemplary combination of professional leadership, dedicated service to his country and community, and longtime volunteerism on Denison’s behalf.

Dick served during World War II and the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He received his LL.B. from the University of Cincinnati Law School in 1949. He is a partner in the Cincinnati law firm of Drew, Ward, Graf, Coogan & Goedel. Highly respected by his peers, he has served as President of the Cincinnati Bar Association and as delegate to the American Bar Association.

Dick’s community has benefitted enormously from his public spiritedness. He has served as president of the Mariemont District Board of Education, President of the Cincinnati Gyro Club, and is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees for AAA Cincinnati.

The 1945 Golden Anniversary Reunion Committee is the beneficiary of Dick’s efforts in soliciting gifts. Dick has also served as Alumni Club President, President’s Associates Volunteer, and volunteer for two Denison capital campaigns.

Dick resides in Mariemont with his wife Katie. Two of his three children graduated from Denison: Amy Ward Heilbronner ’72 and Richard G. Ward ’78.
