To help alums leverage the power of their Denison network and to build community and connection within the alumni base by industry, we have launched our first four alumni career networks. Click on any of them to join them:

Alums are welcome to join as many groups as they would like! We will be adding more career networks soon, and if there is a career network you’d like to help start, reach out to alumni@denison.edu.

You may also join Denison’s general LinkedIn group for alums, now 8,000 members strong.

Ask a Denisonian is a straightforward way for Denison students and alums to engage with each other in a convenient, accessible way. Ask your own questions, answer others’ questions, offer professional advice, and exchange valuable wisdom and connections.

This tool is available to alums and students at no charge, is easy to use, and does not require an app, registration, or login.

Here’s how it works

Students and alums will go to ask.denison.edu and submit questions. Once a question is received, AI-powered software will connect the questions to alums who are well-suited to answer. If you are a good fit, the software will automatically email you the question.

When you receive an email with a question, you can choose the most convenient way to respond — via email, a phone call, or a meeting — it’s up to you.

Questions are only shared when there is a match, meaning it could take three hours, three weeks, or three months before you receive a question to answer. Keep an eye out for messages from ask@denison.edu.

Denison alums can ask questions, too

Denisonians are lifelong learners, so ask your questions. All alums and students are encouraged to leverage Ask a Denisonian to build their networks, seek professional advice, explore new areas of interest, and more. With more than 30,000 alums, chances are, there is a Denisonian who can help you.

Denison Edge, an extension of the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration, provides a comprehensive array of skills-building programs in business, finance, marketing/communications, logistics, analytics, Excel, and more to alums, current students, and business leaders. Programs are offered in downtown Columbus, online, and various other locations.

All Denison alums can benefit from a 50% discount with code DE50. Recent alums (within five years of graduation) participate for FREE in Denison Edge credentials, accelerators, and workshops when they enter their class year as part of the registration process.

There are many variables to consider as you contemplate whether to attend graduate school. Check out the resources below and consider asking alums about their experience in grad school via Ask a Denisonian.

As part of Denison’s commitment to prepare students for their lives beyond The Hill, we ask alums and other friends of the university to help create a network of support for a student’s entire career journey. Consider serving as a career launch volunteer or as a Knowlton Connect contributor!

The Knowlton Center for Career Exploration continues to be a lifelong resource for alums. Here are a few things you can do there:

  • Book a 1-1 appointment with a career coach or professional school advisor
  • Take advantage of a LinkedIn Learning course
  • Seek advice and guidance on resumes and personal statements
  • Participate in a mock interview
  • Host an externship

Designed by alums, for alums, we offer an array of programs, workshops, and opportunities to gain skills, be inspired, prepare for that next step, and more. From our signature ReMix: Disruptors, Innovators, Creatives, to ReMix + Women, to our “on the road” events, alums have the opportunity to reconnect, reimagine, and refuel, with the help of their Denison network.

More than ever, we recognize that our young alumni are making career pivots quickly, sometimes even 18-36 months after commencement. We want to ensure Denison is a resource for them in that moment of transition, and we have created dedicated programming to do so.

Beyond the Hill: Starting in Summer 2024 in support of the young alumni career launch, we will host a “Beyond the Hill” series in several cities and offer dedicated programming geared toward young alumni, in partnership with the Knowlton Center. Join us June 26-27, 2024, in Washington, D.C.; Chicago; and New York City. More details to be announced soon.

Big Red Weekend: Now as part of Big Red Weekend, we will offer a few dedicated sessions and workshops that young alumni can participate in for their ongoing professional growth. More details to be announced soon.

Through the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration, Denison provides many resources for alums seeking a new job. Some of the most popular offerings include resume resources, tips on building your network, how-tos for maximizing LinkedIn, career advice, industry research, and job-seeking websites.

With virtual opportunities, Denison alums near and far can take advantage of webinars, workshops, and other programs designed to keep them connected.
