Clifford M. Carey is recognized for his significant role in the development of the YMCA programs. In this role, he has striven for social betterment and the wholesome development of the youth of our land.
As director of research of the National Board of Young Men’s Christian Associations and editor of the YMCA Year Book, Mr. Carey has been engaged in this work with the YMCA since 1926 and is known for his special studies in group work, camping, and community organization. He also taught sociology at Whittier College and the University of Southern California and served as a member of the World Council of YMCAs, the National Social Welfare Assembly, and the Society of the Scientific Study of Religion.
