During his 38-year career as professor of chemistry at Antioch College, Clyde Adams has dedicated his life to the search for truth and the advancement of science.
A pioneer in the development of selenium mustard gas for the Chemical Warfare Services of World War I, Dr. Adams continued his researches through the years, publishing numerous papers in scientific journals, and securing numerous patents as a result of his discoveries in the laboratory. Since 1944 he has spent much time as research consultant for the National Cash Register Company of Dayton, which is the assignee of many of his patents. His publications and patents have dealt largely with the chemistry of dyes and dye intermediates.
Dr. Adams is recognized for his work as a teacher of chemistry to liberal arts students with its emphasis on cultural values, his publications of a widely diversified nature, and his research which has contributed significantly to both basic and applied science.
