Charles Stilwell has been president of Warner and Swasey Company, Cleveland, since 1939. His entire business career has been with the company, beginning in 1910 as a machine apprentice. He is a past president of the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce and of the National Machine Tool Builders Association. He is a chairman of the board of trustees of Fenn College and of the Machine Tool Industry Advisory Task Committee of the Munitions and Resources Boards at Washington. He is a director of other companies and a member of the boards of Case Institute of Applied Science, Associated Industries of Cleveland, National Industries Conference Board, Inc., and Cleveland Ordnance District Advisory Board. He is a leader in the modernization of the textile industry.
