Tom became a partner in the Columbus office of the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease in 1989 at the age of 32, having earned the J.D. from the Ohio State University in 1982. He has served on the firm’s Management Committee and is currently the Chairperson of the Business Development Committee. Three years ago, he was awarded the Ohio State University’s William Oxley Thompson Award for distinctive career achievement by young alumni.
The Columbus community benefits tremendously from Tom’s volunteer spirit. He has served as a Trustee of Action for Children, and is a past Trustee and past President of Buckeye Boys Ranch. He is currently a Trustee and member of the Executive Committee of the “I Know I Can” Program, a program affiliated with the Columbus Public Schools. He received the 1989 Columbus Jaycees Distinguished Service Award and the 1992 Columbus Bar Association’s Community Service Award.
A Trustee of Denison University from 1979 to 1982, Tom now serves on the Board of the Denison University Research Foundation. He also chairs his Class Fund. His other Denison service includes membership on the Columbus Corporate Committee for The Campaign for Denison, and Annual Fund leadership at several levels.
