Harry “Buck” Niehoff was an outstanding student leader while at Denison, serving among many activities as editor of the Denisonian, a member of the student senate, two varsity teams, and election to Omicron Delta Kappa and other honoraries. He graduated with honors and matriculated at The University of Cincinnati Law School, receiving his J.D. in 1972.
His career as an attorney has been with the Cincinnati firm of Peck, Shaffer & Williams, a firm specializing in public finance. Buck has been a partner since 1978 and is currently chair of the administrators committee which oversees management of all five offices of the firm, and for ten years has been in charge of the firm’s governmental finance division.
He has been very active in various civic organizations in Cincinnati, especially in the Mercantile Library, where he and his wife have sponsored a series of lectures. He has also served on the board of the National History Museum.
Buck has been an active volunteer for Denison ever since his graduation. He served as both vice president and president of the Cincinnati Alumni Club, and vice president and secretary of the Alumni Council.
He has chaired both Annual and Capital Campaign programs. In 1983, he was elected as an alumni trustee, serving on the Board of Trustees from 1983 to 1989.
