Principal of Detroit’s Redford High School and author of articles of both educational and lay interest, Robert R. Baumgartner was president of the Michigan Baptist Convention from 1964 to 1965, the highest state honor American Baptists can give to one of its constituents. He currently serves as trustee of three bodies: Michigan Baptist Scholarship Society, the American Baptist Student Foundation at Michigan State University, and the Detroit Association of American Baptist Churches. He is also moderator of the Redford Baptist Church. A sought-after speaker and consultant on youth problems, Robert is a director of the Northwestern Branch YMCA, Detroit, and president and trustee of the Detroit High School Student Aid Foundation.
