Day of Giving is the one day every year when we ask all Denisonians to come together to amplify their impact on the student experience by making a gift — it would not be possible without your help. You are a part of a special group of volunteers who are key to ensuring our annual Day of Giving is a success.
We want you to have some fun with this! No matter your level of comfort with volunteering, we have a role that can fit. We will provide you with all the necessary resources to succeed and be with you every step of the way.
Please use the resources provided in this toolkit to help show your passion for Denison and to spread the word about Denison’s annual Day of Giving on April 22. Every post you share, email you send, and call you make leading up to and on April 22 will contribute to a successful Day of Giving.

What is the main priority of Day of Giving?
The number one priority for Denison’s annual Day of Giving is to increase alumni participation. Help us reach our goal of 1,750 donors!
When is Day of Giving this year?
Denison’s Day of Giving will take place on April 22, 2026.
What are this year’s main support areas?
This year, we are focusing on promoting seven priority areas for the college:
- Academic Excellence
- Access and Opportunity
- Alumni Network for Life
- Athletics
- Career Launch
- Student Life
- Annual Fund

When will you start accepting gifts?
Gifts can be made now through April 26 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

What are challenges and matching gift opportunities?
We are fortunate to have an array of individuals and alumni groups who offer a variety of matches and challenges, amplifying donations to go even further. This year’s matches and challenges will be published on the Day of Giving website as they are announced.

How do I spread the word?
To spread the word about Denison’s Day of Giving, you’ll want to communicate with your network through email or text messages, social media posts, and word of mouth. Set attainable goals you feel comfortable you can achieve, such as:
- Sending 10 text messages.
- Sending 10 emails.
- Calling five classmates.
- Creating/sharing three social media posts.
- Add Denison’s Day of Giving to your Google Calendar and invite your friends!
*If you haven’t stayed in close contact with many folks from Denison, no worries! We can provide you with a list of contacts to reach out to via phone or email.

Use both Instagram and Facebook, if possible. If you aren’t already in one, we encourage you to join a Facebook group of Denison alums.
