Alice Randall ’23 is the retired head of the American Baptist Mission Hospital, Gauhati, Assam, where she served from 1929 to 1946. During the late war the hospital was heavily burdened caring for British, Indian, Chinese, and American army personnel, in addition to hundreds of civilian evacuees from Burma. For this service Dr. Randall was awarded the Kaiser-i-Hind Medal for Public Service by the government of India. She is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and she is now serving a two-year term on restricted duty as a surgeon at the American Mission Women’s Hospital in Madura, South India. Dr. Randall’s friends from Denison are oft to say that “she is Denison at its best.”
