Janet Crown is a dynamic entrepreneur and philanthropist whose career reflects a deep commitment to innovation, community engagement, and the arts. From launching cutting-edge businesses to supporting transformative philanthropic initiatives, she exemplifies the power of purpose-driven leadership.

Janet began her professional journey at Creative Artists Agency in the commercial and sponsorship division, building expertise in client relations and strategic partnerships. She went on to serve as vice president of client services at Focus Media, where she continued to lead high-level brand development and media strategy. In 2005, Janet founded Burn 60 Fitness Studios, a high-intensity interval training company in Southern California that she led for 16 years.

Her entrepreneurial spirit is matched by an unwavering dedication to public service. Janet is a founding member of impactful organizations such as The Painted Turtle Camp, Project Blue LA, The Healthy Room Project, and The Watts Rams — all dedicated to supporting underserved communities, particularly youth.

She lends her leadership to several distinguished cultural and health institutions, including serving as a board member for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Aspen Art Museum, the Lollipop Theater Network, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

A loyal and engaged Denisonian, Janet is a Lifetime Trustee of Denison, where her passion for the liberal arts continues to shine through her advocacy and generosity. Originally from Chicago, Janet holds a B.A. from Denison and an M.S. from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

She and her husband Steve live in Los Angeles, where they are proud parents of five and grandparents of three.
