Mrs. Katherine Kaiser Moore is well-known as having served a broad segment of the Canton community and as trustee of Aultman Hospital for 26 years. She is also on the hospital’s education research committee, the Women’s Board, gift shop staff, and chairman of volunteer services for 17 years. She is past chairman of the Northeast District of the Ohio Hospital Association. Over the years she was also president of the YWCA board during the funding and construction of a new building. Recently she was asked to chair the building and properties committee and return to the board due to needed attention to a now aging building. She has been the only woman on the city health board for 15 years. She also serves the advisory board of the House of Loreto Senior Citizens Home.
She has been active on the executive committee and as residential chairman of the United Way and past president of the Canton Chapter of the Needlework Guild International.
She has been a leader in community education, helping to establish Malone College in Canton in 1960. She was the first president of the Women’s Advisory Council of the College, past residential chairman and volunteer each year for Malone Annual Support and was cited for her achievements as residential chairperson for the Malone Campaign for a campus center. In 1979 she was named YWCA Woman of the Year and in 1957 she was selected as woman of the year by the Junior League of Canton. Her activities at the time included leadership in the Canton Welfare Federation and the Community Service Council. She has been a member of the Canton Council of Churches and of the Ohio Board of the Church Women United.
