Walter Lister has provided outstanding service in his lifetime as a newspaperman to the cause of public enlightenment. Having served as a news executive of the Cleveland Press, Houston Press, Brooklyn Daily Times, New York Telegram, New York Post, and Philadelphia Record, Mr. Lister is presently executive editor of the Philadelphia Bulletin. He is co-author of a play, Spread Eagle, which enjoyed not only successful production on Broadway but also publication by Scribner’s.
As a director of the American Society of Newspaper Editors and of the Associated Press Managing Editors’ Association, Mr. Lister has displayed tremendous personal achievement, great fidelity to the ideals of his profession, and unrivaled service to his fellow men.
