James McCuskey, by his foresight, energy and innovation, helped to change the design of aluminum product packaging, revolutionizing how the processed food industry packs their products. In so doing he led his company, Central States Can Corporation, into becoming the largest in its field.
As his business career flourished, he extended his community service, serving Massillon as president of the Chamber of Commerce, president of the Rotary, co-chair of the United Fund, and director of the YMCA and of the Stark County Historical Society.
Always active on behalf of Denison, he served as a volunteer in both the Sesquicentennial and Ford Foundation Campaigns, as president of the Canton Alumni Club, and as a member of the class of 1937 reunion committee.
