William G. Dildine, 1933
B.A., Denison University
Calcutta India
Citation awarded on Saturday, June 6, 1953
In recognition of his work toward the better understanding of human and international relationships, Denison University confers upon Mr. Dildine an Alumni Citation. Winner of a Reid Fellowship in 1949, he resigned his staff position with the Cleveland Plain Dealer and spent a year of travel and study of the human and material resources of the three Mohammedan countries adjacent to the Society Union – Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran – to form an estimate of their possible effect on the future course of world politics, particularly in relation to Russia.
Now a foreign correspondent interpreting the weekly news of these two countries for Newsweek magazine, he contributes notably to the prestige of Denison University.
