A respected and well-known civic worker in Cleveland, Harriette McCann Roudebush has given her unstinting assistance to the causes of community welfare and has helped others so much to achieve better lives.
Now a homemaker and mother of two sons and a daughter, all of whom graduated from Denison, Mrs. Roudebush was a caseworker with the Cleveland chapter of the American Red Cross before her marriage to a Denisonian and Cleveland attorney. In 1940, she began her uninterrupted service to the Cleveland YWCA as a director and became its president in 1951. She has been a force for many years in the Phyllis Wheatley Organization, serving as its trustee, and has served the Cleveland Welfare Federation Group Work Council since 1952. She has been a leader in the Cleveland Church Federation and the Women’s Committee of the Cleveland Council on World Affairs and unsparing in her support of the alumni chapters of her sorority and the Cleveland Denison Alumni Association throughout the years.
