Following graduation from Denison in 1966, Bradford Tillson served in the U.S. Navy as an officer assigned to the staff of an aircraft carrier division commander. He served three tours in the Vietnam War Zone.

He began his journalistic career with the Cleveland Plain Dealer as an intern in 1965. Following his naval service, he became a reporter with the Charlotte (N.C.) News in 1969, and moved to the Dayton Daily News in 1971.

His career on this paper includes service on the investigative team and service in the State Bureau. He was named city editor in 1977, assistant managing editor in 1981, managing editor/features in 1981, and editor in 1984. He was named publisher in 1988.

In addition to his profession, Brad has served his community with distinction, serving among other groups as chairman of the County Public Education Fund, vice chair of the Chamber of Commerce, and concern with the arts and social justice.

As a former editor of the Denisonian, Brad Tillson is making a significant mark as a nationally recognized journalist.
