Charlotte Kessler is a civic leader and volunteer of extraordinary energy and effectiveness. She devotes her efforts to organizations in Columbus and Central Ohio that span the fields of education, the arts, health and philanthropy.

Charlotte is currently president of the Board of Trustees of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, a member of the Governing Committee of the Columbus Foundation, director and member of the Executive Committee of the Ohio Arts Council, and board member of the Arthur James Cancer Hospital Foundation and the Wexner Center for the Arts. She formerly served on the boards of the Columbus Symphony (vice president), Players Theater (president), the Columbus School for Girls, the Greater Columbus Arts Council, Planned Parenthood, the Franklin Park Conservatory, and the Columbus Area Community Mental Health Center. She also serves as a director of Columbia Gas of Ohio.

In 1994, Charlotte concluded 14 years of service as a member of the Denison University Board of Trustees. While serving on the Board she was a member of the Development Committee and also served as its chair. She was also a member of the Committees on Enrollment and Placement, Nominations and University Affairs. Charlotte also served as National Vice Chair of the $78 million Campaign for Denison, completed in 1995. Additionally, Charlotte has worked on Denison’s behalf as a President’s Associates volunteer for the Denison Annual Fund and as a member of the 1965 Class Gift Committee during her 25th Reunion.

Charlotte and her husband, Jack, live in New Albany, Ohio. They have three grown daughters and one granddaughter.
