Scott Whitlock graduated from Denison Phi Beta Kappa with high honors and continued his education at Harvard Law School, receiving his LL.B. degree in 1967.

He worked for the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease in Columbus, and in that post became legal counsel to Honda of America. He was instrumental in the start-up of the Marysville operation, and in 1985, he went to Honda as plant manager and senior vice president. In 1990, he became executive vice president, the highest position attained by an American in Honda’s operations. He is the only American to oversee their vehicle assembly operations.

Scott was founder and trustee of the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts and has served as trustee of BalletMet. He is currently trustee of Franklin University, chairman of the Ohio State University School of Architecture advisory board, trustee and vice chairman of the Ohio Manufacturer’s Association, and a director the National Association of Manufacturers.

He has served as a Denison career advisor for many years, and currently serves on the Columbus Corporate Committee for the Campaign for Denison.
