Women and Gender Studies Virtual Alumni Career Panel

All alumni and students are cordially invited to a WGST Virtual Career Panel with three Denison alumnae. Hear from three impressive alumnae practicing careers related to women and gender studies.

Emma Bosley-Smith ’15
Denison Majors: Anthropology & Sociology, Women’s Studies
PhD Candidate, Department of Sociology, The Ohio State University
Emma’s work is focused on the intersections of sexualities, gender, economic insecurity, and family. She is published in Social Problems, Journal of Marriage and Family, and Journal of Homosexuality, and is co-author of a forthcoming book out of NYU Press on LGBTQ adults and their relationships with parents.

Kirsten Goode (Haveri) ’11
Denison Majors: Educational Studies, Psychology, Women’s Studies
Coordinator, Rise and Shine Montessori School
Kirsten immediately began teaching after college and eventually moved to Colorado where she obtained her Montessori teaching certificates for Infants and Toddlers and Primary aged children (3-6). She is now a teacher and coordinator at a Montessori school. Kirsten works with parents and teachers alike to further their understanding and education in regards to The Montessori Method, child development, and practical and respectful parenting.

Adrienne Wells ’02
Denison Majors: Studio Arts, Women’s Studies
Public Policy Manager, Philanthropy Ohio
After working at a retirement community, a local news station, and an IT firm, Adrienne came to Ohio Grantmakers Forum (OGF) – as Philanthropy Ohio was called back then – in October of 2006 on a temporary assignment. In January of 2008, she became an “official” employee and is now Manager of Public Policy at Philanthropy Ohio. Adrienne recently launched a Racial Equity Capacity Assessment for members and Ohio foundations to gain valuable insight individually and collectively on the journey to promote racial equity.
