Mark Dowie is a freelance writer who was one of the founders of Mother Jones, a national political magazine. During his tenure as writer, editor, and publisher, Mother Jones received every major journalism award, most notably Columbia School of Journalism’s National Magazine award in the category of public service for its story on the Ford Pinto.
