Following graduation from Denison in 1930, John C. Weaver received his master’s and doctorate in chemistry from the University of Cincinnati.
In 1936, he began his career with Sherwin Williams Corp., serving as chemist, project coordinator and consultant, and a recognized expert in paint technology. During the course of this career, from 1936 to 1973, he received numerous awards from professional societies.
In 1974, he began his second career as a consultant and lecturer in macro-molecular science at Case Western Reserve University, where he continues to work five days a week. John has maintained close ties with the department of chemistry at Denison.
He is a lifelong volunteer for Denison, having served as president of the Cleveland Alumni Club, a member-at-large of the Alumni Board, and as the very active and successful fund chair of his 50th reunion class.
