Stephen Tuttle has been head of the division of music at the University of Virginia since 1945. He has been a successful teacher at Denison and at Harvard University, as well as at Virginia. At present he is in Paris on a Guggenheim Fellowship, preparing complete editions of the sixteenth century English keyboard composers. He is an author and composer.
