Dr. David Reese has been tirelessly dedicated service to Denison University and to his sports activities as a Big Ten official in the Western Conference. He combines those qualities of spirit and enthusiasm for his Alma Mater and for a wholesome athletic program which has generated fellowship within the Denison community and effectively raised awareness of Denison nationally.

One of Denison’s all-time athletic greats, Dr. Reese played seven years of professional football and basketball, refereed football and basketball for 32 years, is the past president of the Ohio Football Officials Association, a commissioner of the Mid-American Conference, and served as NCAA Committee consultant in 1952. The past president of the Society of the Alumni and of the Alumni Club of Dayton, chairman of the original alumni committee to raise funds for the Denison Memorial Field House, his record of services has made him a symbol of devotion in support of collegiate athletics and to Denison.
