Harold Emswiler has spent his life devoted to the public schools, from one-room country schools to big city high schools.

After resigning as principal of Columbus’ Central High School in 1944 after nearly 40 years as a teacher and administrator in the public schools of Licking and Franklin Counties, Mr. Emswiler became Commissioner of the Ohio High School Athletic Association, heading the athletic program of the high schools of Ohio until his retirement in November. He has gained and retained the respect and admiration of the hundreds of high school administrators, athletic directors, coaches and officials with whom he has come in contact.
