Dr. John Martin Kinney is recognized as one of the most promising surgical research physicians in the exploration of the healing process of the human body after injury.

Currently, he is professor of surgery in the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University, attending surgeon at Presbyterian Hospital, and consultant on surgery at Harlem Hospital, New York City.

John, as both research surgeon and medical professor, belongs to every important medical society, serves national scientific committees on the problems of emergency surgical service and development, and has published nearly 50 articles on surgical education and research in learned journals. He has presented to the Royal College of Surgeons, London, in 1960, to an international symposium on protein metabolism in 1962, and to an international group of surgeons in Guatemala in 1963.

The results of his pioneering exploration into the biochemistry of surgery and trauma has led to breakthroughs for the intensive care of the critically ill and injured.
