Jon Boss, long an active layperson in the diocese of southern Ohio, began his new duties as director of administration to Bishop William G. Black, on January 1. In making this career change, Jon took early retirement from the Kroger Co., where he held the position as director of corporate data security.

In addition to his work for the church, his community activities have included serving as division chair of the United Appeal for several years and as a board member of the Cincinnati Adolescent Clinic. In 1980, he received the Neil McElroy award for community service.

He has served Denison significantly on the alumni inter-fraternity council (IFC) from 1974 to 1980 as secretary, vice-president, and president, and from 1979 to 1986 as the alumni IFC representative to the committee on Greek life.
