Nancy is a highly respected leader of the Columbus, Ohio cultural community. She has been Development Director of BalletMet for six years, having previously held the same position with Players Theatre Columbus. She has been active for many years, and has served as Treasurer, President and Chairman of the Board. When she stepped down as Chairman, the Board of Trustees created the Nancy Strause Scholarship in her honor.

Many honors have come to Nancy as a result of her civic leadership. In 1986 she received the Community Service Award from the Junior League, and two years later she was the recipient of the Mayor’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Nancy has been named the Northwest Rotary Woman of the Year, and in 1990 she received the Eleanor A. Gelpi Award for Arts/Cultural Affairs, presented through the YWCA’s Women of Achievement Program. In 1993 Nancy was the first recipient of the Fund Raising Executive of the Year award from the National Society of Fund Raising Executives, Central Ohio Chapter.

Nancy and her husband Ed have two grown sons.
