In recognition of an artist who has used his professional status for the betterment of the people of his race, Denison University confers upon Mr. Allen an Alumni Citation.

Coming from a long line of Pawnee chiefs, he was elected as the national president of the Indian League of America three years ago and last year was named “Outstanding Indian of the Year” by councilmen of the various tribes in America. Actor, singer, and model, he has been a frequent television performer on such shows as Studio One, Philco Playhouse, Lux Video Theatre, Robert Montgomery Presents, Suspense, and Seven Lively Arts. He has also been in four New York stage productions, sung on many radio shows, had his own programs for children on the NBC Kraft Theatre and on radio WOR, New York, and just completed the motion picture, Miracle on Demand. For eight years he has sought to preserve and disseminate the cultural remains of Indian life as director of the Indian Village at Jones Beach State Park on Long Island, N.Y.

His life and achievements, in exemplifying the best of Denison ideals, honors the name of his Alma Mater.
