Following her graduation from Denison, she moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she became both a student and administrator at the University of Alabama. There she received her master’s and Ph.D. and served as assistant dean of women, director of student aid, director of parent programs, and finally director of international student affairs. In the last post, she worked with Rotary International to build international student housing and was the organizer and one of the key officers in the support organization, Tuscaloosa for International Students, an activity she continues to the present.

Bunnie has also had an active business career. She serves as treasurer and director of P. E. LaMoreaux & Associates. She is president of an import and export business. She is known internationally through her work with the American Association of State Geologists and International Association of Hydrogeologists.
