Walter “Pete” Alpaugh has enjoyed an extremely successful career in the insurance business. He began in Cincinnati, serving as vice president, then president and agency director of Inter-Ocean Insurance Co. Later he served as chairman of the board of Cincinnati Financial Corp., which he ultimately sold. Today, he is the owner and president of Nathan Hale Investment Corp.

Early on, Pete was recognized for his leadership talents and was inducted into the Young President’s Organization while still in his 30s. He assumed a very active role in that organization and was chosen by that group for membership in the Chief Executives’ Federation.

He has served Denison as Cincinnati’s Alumni Club president, Alumni Council member, and Cincinnati division leader during the Ford Campaign.

Last year he chaired and actively helped produce “Classroom to Boardroom and Back”, a two-day symposium bringing together students with successful business leaders, most of whom were Denison alumni.
